心理創傷會深遠地影響一個人的性格、行為以及與他人的相處模式。實驗證明,埋藏於內心深 處的心理創傷,可以經由抒寫後獲得健康改善。抒寫的作用可視為:回憶的過程中,大腦正在 想辦法解釋該事件的原因和結果,進而學習如何在未來,將正面事件複製,並且減少負面事件 的發生。睡眠也是另一個穩定情緒的良方,規律睡眠也是健康的指標。

People who had a major traumatic experience in their lives were much more likely to get sick than people who had not. That was an old finding. But as I dug in more deeply, what I discovered was people who had a trauma and kept in secret were far more likely to have health problems than people who had the same trauma but who talked to others about it.
2. (11:14~11:40) If you were to write an essay about the worst thing in your life and still use positive emotions, it’s a marker that you’re going to show health improvement. 若你抒寫 你生命中最糟糕的一件事情時仍然使用正向情緒字彙,這是個健康改善的指標。
When we went back and started to look at the essays, we found that certain dimensions of writing really predicted health improvement. Now we found that use of positive emotion was associated with health improvement. So if you were to write an essay about the worst thing in your life and still use positive emotions, it’s a marker that you’re going to show health improvement. The effects are pretty small.
3. (11:47~)What turned out to be far stronger was the use of cognitive words. Words like because, cause, effect; words like understand, realize. 4. (12:42~13:06) The purpose of memory is so that you can remember the good things that happened to you in the past and how they occur and duplicate them in the future. And remember the bad things that happened and figure out why and change your course of life and your pathway in the future, so they occur less frequently.
人們擁有記憶的目的,是要讓你能記住美好的事物,它們如何產生、未來如何複製這些美好的 事情;是要讓你能記住壞的事物,它們如何產生、你該如何改變你的人生以降低他們發生的頻 率。
And remember the bad things that happened and figure out why and change your course of life and your pathway in the future, so they occur less frequently. So the cause and effect analysis would be something like the adjustment of a pathway map.
5. (21:35~21:42)The first thing I do with my clinical clients, generally speaking, is make sure they’re getting enough sleep. Try to re regulate their sleep. 我要我的病患做的第一件事 就是確保他們睡眠充足、並使他們的睡眠規律。
